Angsty-good, this 11,491-word story is classic SN slash in which Casey has some Issues and Danny does, too. Somehow, they get through the chutes and ladders, eventually.

This is a bonus, "I enjoyed my weekend even if I worked on Saturday" rec for the SN fans. The cycling fannishness made me smile. It's that newer story I mentioned last week, and I think Sängerin did a fabulous job with the dialogue.

Seconding minim_calibre's insta-rec of the Sports Night story. It was just what I wanted to read today: slightly angsty-then-sweet reunion fic! No spoilers for the series, but you won't get how satisfying this story is unless you've seen the show/know the characters.

HYPERFocused's deftness in writing flirtation is why I am rec'ing this somewhat surprising, definitely rare crossover today. I dig it when two clever, verbally adept people have the right chemistry. (Maybe it's all those classic movie pairings I grew up on, like Hepburn/Tracy and Myrna Loy/William Powell.)

Here we have the tale of of two best friends who fall in love. What is wonderful about this story is that it makes me a) immediately want to re-watch the ENTIRE series in a massive binge and then plow through every SN story I ever liked, and b) have a mental screening of the story as the script for a last season of SN in which Dan and Casey fall in ( Read more... )

Long and good: two excellent traits of any story. The fact that it's SN? Even better. Danny is in character in this, neurotic but likeable and not excessively angsty, and Casey is such a sweetheart that I could squeeze him to bits ( Read more... )

Day 15 of 31 Flavors

This is one of my all-time favorite SN stories, for several reasons: the snappy dialogue, the all-around good characterizations of the entire crew, the hot, hot sex (including great kissing scenes and a smoking hot Casey fantasy about Danny), the tinge of Casey panic, and best of all, the story's both long and good.
